A toddler and a snowman.
Everyone in Witch Central knows about Jamie Sullivan's precog vision the one he saw when he first laid eyes on the woman who would one day be his wife.
Now Nat and Jamie have it all. A fiery, adorable daughter; the kind of marriage that lasts to forever and beyond; and deep roots in the love, antics, and magic of Witch Central's leading family.
Those parts of the vision have all come true. All that is missing is one small boy with dancing eyes.
And all the magic in the universe can't seem to make him real.

It dealt with whether or not one of the characters (Nat) could get pregnant or not. It came across too sickening sweet for me this time - I wanted to stop at one point as I thought to myself, "you've written 300+ pages about a couple's quest to conceive a child??!!" and I NEVER stop on a book and not one who's characters I really do love. I continued to read it to see what the outcome would be and enjoyed the ending but didn't enjoy the story as much this time. I still love the characters and enjoyed hearing what all the goings on were but this one just had too much of the "I love you" sort of kumbaya type of stuff in it this time and not enough "story" - we all know the family loves each other and supports each other - I think it was overdone here. I did enjoy the side story about Trinity which I think helped save the book for me in the end up. I will still order and read the next book though.Product details

An Unlikely Witch Witch Central Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Debora Geary Martha Harmon Pardee Books Reviews
To read these books or not to read them? That IS the question. What can these books possibly offer? They have very little plot to speak of. There is usually very little true conflict. Everything is totally unrealistic. And yet, they have an amazing appeal to them. What is that appeal? Love. True unadulterated love between the characters. Is that enough to hold your interest? Apparently it’s enough for me since I’ve read every one. The world Geary creates is a perfect environment to develop characters who are part of loving families. They anchor themselves in love and are interesting enough to spellbind you into continuing with them in their lives. It must be a spell. Geary is actually a witch who is creating spells with words where, once you read the first novel, you are spellbound. You are hooked.
An Unlikely Witch is Geary’s best work so far because of a character which was introduced a while back; a small crystal ball who develops into a true character right before your eyes. It’s another perfect spell by the author. The characters are so well-defined by now that Geary can go in any direction. I think her hardest problem is trying to think of what direction to go next. It doesn’t seem like such a problem since this world is her limit and maybe not even that is a limit.
When the next one is available, I grab it and read it in two days and it’s just like eating fluffy popcorn with a lot of butter. Real butter.
I promised myself I wasn't going to start this book until AFTER I was finished with all of my chores to prepare for the inevitable invasion of the masses who descend upon our home at Christmas in three days. I sat down to take a quick break, and a sneak peak, and my responsibilities disappeared as I was transported back to Witch Central.
An Unlikely Witch is the 2nd book in the Witch Central series and the most heartbreaking to date of all of Debra's books. Having an emergency hysterectomy when my son was only 4 years-old left me empty and emotionally scarred. For years my dreams revealed tiny faces of freckles and hair of red with smiles identical to their big brother's. This book took me back 23 years and reminded me of a pain I thought I lost long ago. I FELT Nat's desperation and fear and sorrow as she struggled to let go of her baby boy whose face was only in her dreams. I FELT Nat's strong, deep, soul-consuming love for her daughter whom she would protect and cherish and give thanks for always. Most of all I FELT the healing love and joy that surrounded her as she took each step through her journey.
The radiating love, belief, strength and magic that is in Witch Central always makes my heart sing, my aura glow brightly, and most of all leaves me with joy and the reminder that our strength is always fueled by those who love us most.
If you don't believe in magic, I challenge you to read A Modern Witch. After you've welcomed "Sullivan & Co." into your life you will thank Debra for introducing you.
You really need to start at the beginning and work you way to the end. Start with either "To Have and to Code" or "A Modern Witch". A Modern Witch was written first and To Have and to Code is a prequel. The order at http//www.deborageary.com/books.html is my preferred reading order. If you're a listener, most but not all of the books are available on Audible.com. I'm not thrilled with the narrator, I feel as though she emphasizes things oddly but I listen to the books over and over. Geary has made everything as inexpensive for readers as possible. Even if you prefer audiobooks I'd advise buying the edition and using the whispersync link to buy the audiobook. OK, enough about generalities.
If you've read all of the books up until this one you remember Jaimie's precog back in A Modern Witch. This book largely deals with the results of the precog. It's a book that made me laugh and cry, both happy tears and sad ones, and as always it made me laugh. We get to see bits of almost all of our previous characters. The book centers around the winter solstice when Aervyn will turn seven and Kenna will be two. The triplets, Ginny, Mia and Shay have given each member of witch central, including residents of Fisher's Cove and the castle a name and their challenge is to make a wish come true for that person. The girls are brilliant in choosing the assignments and one thread of the book has to do with trying to determine what would really be a dream come true for that person. Then there's the fun of enlisting people who can help make that dream and keeping secrets, never an easy task in Witch Central where privacy is often hard to come by. The other main thread is a deeply meaningful journey into infertility. It challenges Nat and Jaimie as well as the three main healers, Moira, Sophie and the question of whether at eleven Ginny should be kept safe from the responsibilities and heartache of such a search or whether her talents should be used.
There you have it, joy, mischief, fun and turmoil. It's a very hard book to put down.
